May 1, 2008, Reston, Virginia -- HCA Virginia announced today that Tim Tobin has been named chief executive officer of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center (SRMC) effective June 1, 2008. Tobin has been the President and CEO of 190-bed Alleghany Regional Hospital (ARH) in Low Moor, Virginia, since 2005. He is a 21-year veteran with HCA and has also served in leadership capacities at CJW Medical Center and Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond and of Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.
"I am very excited and highly honored to be selected to lead the construction, development and operation of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center," said Tobin. "To say this is a once in a lifetime opportunity would be an enormous understatement."
"Throughout his career, Tim has shown an ability to succeed in positions of increasing responsibility," said Margaret Lewis, President of HCA's Capital Division. "While he was at ARH, the hospital consistently achieved clinical quality scores in the top ten percent in the nation, and it became the first rural hospital in the state to gain Chest Pain Accreditation status."
